The Diversity Workbench is composed of components for building and managing biodiversity information, each of which focuses on a particular domain. Each component can provide services to the other components. DiversityCollection can link data to the modules DiversityExsiccatae, DiversityGazetteer, DiversityScientificTerms, DiversityTaxonNames, DiversityAgents and DiversityReferences as illustrated in the image below. The modules DiversityCollection and DiversityDescriptions provide an export into a cache database and Postgres databases.
The modules communicate with each other to provide their services for the other modules.
